Daily Update--Feb.23/15

ELA--There is always daily reading.

--I am still waiting for signed vocabulary tests, and signed Chapter 2 novel quiz.

--I introduced the "Evidence of Learning" for Unit 6. Students should start working on the rough draft of either making up the story or making up the individual sentences. This assignment will be due beginning of March.

--For the novel, students need to read chapter 3 and identify 8 to 12 important events that happened in the chapter (using sticky notes). The rest of the assignment has been explained, but we will deal with it after this section has been completed.

Math--POW #19 is due Friday.

SS--Get the test signed and returned to school.

--Begin rough draft of the 3-Point Approach/Word-a-day mini-project. Students have a detailed outline. The project will be due near the end of the week. It is not a long, extensive research project, so it can be completed within the time frame. Over the weekend, students should have found the definition of their chosen word and looked for diagrams/pictures. Begin on the model. Paper will be handed out tomorrow for the poster section of the project.

Science--The Health/Science Media project is due  Friday, Feb.27th. Students have had time to look for and find their 3 articles, and now should be working on the rough drafts of summaries and opinions. Science classes last week and this week have been used ( and are being used) for this project.

--Title page for the new unit on "Optics" is due Tuesday. An outline and rubric has been handed out.
