Daily Update--May 31/13

ELA--The last IRP/book project was handed in today. Now to continue working on the background for the Learning Journey for the  Shakespearean play; and to work on the rough drafts for the Memory Book. Students also need to get their essays signed and returned to school.

Math--The unit test will be written on Monday. Work through the Chapter Review on pages 112-113--questions #3,4,9,10, 14 and 17.

SS--The Ancient Roman board games are due by the end of next week.

Daily Update--May27/13

ELA--The homework is on-going and students need to manage their time and schedules to allow for all the work and to meet the deadlines without cramming everything into one or two nights. The work is as follows:
1. The last IRP/Option #3 is due by Friday. Each student knows what they have left to do.

2. The background for the "Learning Journey for A Midsummer Night's Dream" should be half way completed so it is ready when we have finished reading the play.

3. All rough drafts of their reflections for each act and scene in the Shakespearean play should be up to date as once we have finished reading the play, the students will have one or two days to type up the good copies and hand in the poster.

4. Rough drafts of two chapters for their Memory Book Project should be completed and placed into their duo-tang. I will be editing with them starting tomorrow. We should be working on completing two chapters per week and there are 8 chapters altogether.

Math--3.4 worksheet. The unit test on the Pythagorean Relationship will be either Friday or next Monday.

SS--Two worksheets from Friday are due tomorrow. We will be working in groups to produce a Roman Board Game. This is on-going for about another week and a half.

French--Dictee tomorrow and the research should be completed for tomorrow as well.

Daily Update--May 21/13

ELA--All of the assignments are on-going, so the students are working on their blueprint of the "Learning Journey" background which should be completed for tomorrow (blueprint only). Also work on the next IRP/option #3. Memory book rough draft of a chapter should be completed. Bring a duo-tang to keep all rough drafts of the Memory book.

French--Research should be completed.

Health--Posters are due Thursday.

ELA--Work on the backdrop of the "Learning Journey" for Shakespeare. Work on the Option #3 of the IRP.

Daily Update--May 15/13

ELA--Work on the rough draft reflections on Act 3, Scene 1 in "The Midsummer Night's Dream". Grammar booklet pages 61 and 62 for tomorrow. Work on Option #3.

SS--Get tests signed.

French--Have your research completed for tomorrow.

Health--Work on your posters.

8R Science--Have the Density Booklet completed for tomorrow.

Daily Update--May 14/13

ELA--Grammar booklet pages 57 and 58 are due tomorrow. Act 2 questions are due tomorrow. You are working on the reflections of Act 2. Option #3 is also an on-going project.

Math--Review as your test is tomorrow.

Science--The worksheet on Measuring Mass and the rest of the booklet on Density is due tomorrow.

French--Work on your research project.

8R Science--Worksheet on Measuring Mass is due tomorrow.

Daily Update--May 13/13

ELA--Students are working on their option 3 for the next and final IRP. They are also working on the rough drafts of jots for reflections of Shakespeare's play.

Math--Unit test on Wednesday. Work through the chapter review --page 401--13, 15 (PF), 18, 21 and 22(PF).

SS---Test on the gods and goddesses tomorrow. Remember your notes. Get the last test signed and returned tomorrow.

Daily Update--May 10/13

ELA--The persuasive essay is due MOnday. Please check the rubric so all criteria has been met. Continue working on Option #3 for the IRP.

Math--Chapter review page 400--#1 to 7, and 9, 10 for Monday. Unit test will be on Wednesday.

Science--Lab report is due Monday.

SS--Review notes as the test on Gods and Goddesses will be on Tuesday.

ELA--Essay is due Monday. Option 3 for IRP. Shakespeare.

Math--10.4 in the textbook--questions #8,9,10, and in problem format #11 and 13.

SS--Presentations tomorrow.

Science--Inquiry project due tomorrow.

Daily Update--May 7/13

ELA--Students are still working on their persuasive essay. They should now be typing the second draft after editting the 1st draft with me. Essays are due Monday. They are also working on the 3rd option of the IRP. Draft reflection paragraphs on Act 1, Scene one and two of" A Midsummer Night's Dream" should also be done.

Math--Worksheet on writing expressions and equations should be completed for tomorrow.

Science--Inquiry project is due Friday.

SS--Students need to be practicing their presentation of their specific god or goddess as we will be continuing with the presentations tomorrow. Written report is also due tomorrow.

Daily Update--May7/13

I have been experiencing problems with this blogsite again. My apologies.

ELA--Students are working on thier rough draft of the persuasive essay. This draft should now be ready for editting by themselves and myself. The second draft --typed-- can then be worked on. Students are also working on the Option 3 of the IRP's which is a comparison of two different books. I have introduced a "Learning Journey" which is a reflection writing poster assignment to go with the Shakespeare play we are currently reading.

Math--We are working on concept 10.4. No homework tonight.

Science--Students are working on the Inquiry Project which is a comparison of different brands of a particular product. They need to do this at home and produce a detailed report on their testings and findings. This is due Friday.

SS--Students have researched a particular Greek god/goddess and will start presenting tomorrow. Theyn need to practice their oral presentation at home and bring in their costumes and props tomorrow  as we will start presentations tomorrow.
