Daily Update--Nov.30/18

ELA--Silent reading for 20minutes every day.

  -A short story unit project  due date for the entire project is set for Tuesday, Dec. 4th. Double check the rubric to make certain all parts of the project are completed.

--The students are choosing books out of their comfort zones in terms of genre, and they will be reading these for their 3rd IRP (due just before Christmas break--Dec.19/20th).

MATH:
 --Continually review the Conversion Chart (fractions to decimals to percents) to be prepared for the Mental Math quizzes.

  --Worksheet 4.2 question #8 is due Monday.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

--The Inquiry Project is now due by Monday.

The due date for the entire project is now set for Tuesday, Dec. 4th. --The unit 3 vocabulary test will be written next Wednesday, Nov.28th.


--The students were introduced to the Short Story Unit Project today. Their first step is to read the selections of short stories so they can choice their 3 favorite to work on the different options. The due date is Dec.3rd so we will be talking about managing time and material as it is a project that cannot be done on Dec.1st. We will be using class time to work on this project as well.

Daily Update--November 14/18

ELA--Silent reading for 20minutes every day.
--Vocabulary Unit 3 Synonym and Antonym page is due Thursday, Nov.15.

 --The students started reading the short story titled "Catch" with the purpose of doing some literary analysis of it (in the form of comprehension questions). The answers to these questions will be due no later than Friday morning.

MATH:
 --The unit one test will be written  this Friday. A review package and a checklist has been given out.

 --For tomorrow, the students should complete (in the study package) the page on Scientific notation and then the last page dealing with Pythagorean Relationships questions #1,2, and 6.
