Daily Update--March 22/13

Thank you to all the parents and students who came to the Parent/Student/teacher conferences. It was a good opportunity for us to sit down, discuss topics, and plan for the rest of the year.

ELA--Work on the short story unit project which will be due the end of the first week in April. Pleaase read the criteria carefully. Also work towards the next IRP/book project which will be due the second week of April.

Science--If you did not hand in your design project, it is due April 1st along with the booklet.


Enjoy the spring break;find a sunbeam and read a good book!

Daily Update--March 15/13

ELA--Work on Part B of your short story unit project. Complete the adverb sheet. Continue reading.

Math--Test on Wednesday. Work on textbook questions #4,5,7, and in problem format #8,13,and 15 for Monday.

Science--Work on your design project.

SS--Practice your pp presentation.

French--Dictee on Tuesday.

Report cards went home today. A pink letter also went home for appointment times for our Parent/Teacher conferences. Please indicate your choices and have the chart returned to school on Monday.

Daily Update--March 14/13

ELA--You should have the story choices read by now, so you can proceed to choose the storries that best fit the options. Work on the "Dreams" comprehension questions.

Math--8.5 worksheet questions #1 to 6,  #7 in problem format, and #8 and 9 for tomorrow. Test next week.

Science--The graphic organizer on the telescope is due tomorrow. Work on your design project.

SS--Practice your pp presentation if you have not presented yet.

Health--Questions are due tomorrow.

French--Dictee will be Tuesday.

Weat green tomorrow.

Daily Update--March 12/13

ELA--Work on the short story unit project. Try to finish reading the stories first. Work on finishing the comprehension questions on "Dreams".

Math--Textbook 8.4 questions #7,8,9,10, and in problem format #11,12a, and 15, and then #16,17,18 for tomorrow.

SS--Practice your pp presentation.

Science--Work on the design of your optic device.

Health--Questions due Day 6.

Daily Update--March 11/13

ELA--The students were introduced to the Short Story Unit Project which has many different assignments. The first thing they must do is read all of the different stories (with the assignments in mind). Then they can be working on the comprehension questions on the story "Dreams". I will be "chunking" the work so students stay on track and hopefully not fall behind.

Math--Start review as we have one more concept to cover, and then we will be reviewing for a unit test.

Science--The Design Project was explained today, so students need to start working through the steps . Most of the planning can be done at school, and the building is to be done at home. This will hopefully be done by next Friday.

SS--Practice the powerpoint presentation as everyone will be presenting this week. Make certain the pp is printed and handed in.

French--Test is tomorrow.

Health--Questions are due by Day6.

Daily Update--March 7/13

ELA--The 3 sheets on verbs are due Monday. I also handed out the short story, "Dreams" which students need to read and start working on the comprehension questions.

Math--Review the 4 operations with integers as we will be writing a short quiz on the concepts on Monday.

Science--Have the #21 booklet on "How Do We See?' completed for Monday.

SS--The entire Egypt project is due Monday. Remember the dictionary, the model, and your powerpoint.

French--Test on Tuesday.

Health--Questions due next Day 6.

Daily Update--March 1/13

ELA--The fourth and last IRP/book report for this term is due Monday. The February reading calendar is also due Monday.

Science--The eye diagram needs to be labelled and all parts defined. Use the booklet as information.

SS--The Egypt project with the dictionary, powerpoint, and model are all due Wednesday.

French--Test on Tuesday.

A reminder to get the consent form and the course selection sheet need to be in asap.

We watched the movie, The Hunger Games, for our January reading party, and we also read the book as our class book.
