Daily Update--January 29/15

Yes!!! We have finished writing the ELA exam!

ELA--Homework this weekend involves studying for Unit 5 vocabulary test which will be written on Monday.

--Daily reading of twenty minutes towards the next IRP which will be due approximately middle of February.

Math--POW #16 is due Monday. Worksheet #6.1 questions #1,2,4,6 a, 7, and 9 ( in problem format) will be due Monday.

Science--Oral presentation of the "Pulmonary Circulation of the Blood" must be completed by Friday, Feb.6.

--The RAFT assignment is due Feb.6th as well.

8R Science--Oral presentation of the "Pulmonary Circulation of the Blood" must be completed by Thursday, Feb.5.

--The RAFT assignment is due Feb.4th.

Sewing test is next Day 4.

Daily Update--January 28/15

The students will be writing the third and last part of their ELA exam tomorrow. I have stressed to them ,once again, to make certain they get a good night's rest and have a healthy breakfast tomorrow morning. They need a pencil case with several pencils and pens and an eraser in it.

ELA--Students should review their notes (the blue booklet) on keys points of writing an essay.

 ---Grammar should be reviewed.

 --We have postponed writing the vocabulary unit 5 test to Monday instead of this Thursday.


Math--POW #16  is due Monday, Feb.2.
--Remember to do your test corrections and get the unit test signed and returned to class.
--Worksheet 6.1 questions #1,2,4,6a, 7, and 9(in problem format) are due tomorrow.

ELA--In regards to the essay, students should be working on the rough draft ( on the computer) of body paragraphs two and three tonight to stay on track.  We will be printing the good copies on Friday.

Vocabulary Unit 5 test will be next week.

Daily Update--January 16/15


ELA--The second IRP for this term is due Monday. The "Reflections" is an important section of their IRP which they need to remember to complete

In terms of  essay writing, students should have completed the rough draft of their introductory paragraph by now, and should have the first body paragraph and part of the second body paragraph completed for Monday. The essay will be due Friday.

Math--Practice and review for the Percents unit test which will be written Monday.

SS--

8T Science--Get the unit test signed and returned. Have the Venn Diagram completed.

8R Science--Get the unit test signed and returned.

 ****There are only a few students who still need to hand in the permission form regarding out trip to Brandon for the MB Ag Days. Daily Update--Jan. 14/15

Happy Ukrainian New Year's!

ELA--Students should be working on the rough draft/good copy of their IRP as it is due no later than Monday, January 19th. We worked on "Reflections" today--an important section of their IRP.

 We have started on essay writing, and students should be researching their topic, deciding on three main reasons to back up their opinion, and making jots.

Math--POW #15 is due Friday. We will be starting chapter review for the Percents chapter and the unit test will be written next Monday. For tomorrow, questions #5,6,and 7 in the Chapter Review Booklet are due.  There is extra Math help every day.

We have started on essay writing, and students should have chosen their topic for the essay. Now they need to begin researching the topic and making jots.

Math--POW #15 is due Friday. We will be starting chapter review for the Percents chapter and the unit test will be written next Tuesday. For tomorrow, questions #1 to 4 in the Chapter Review Booklet are due.

SS-- Weekly News is due tomorrow.  Map #1, 2 and 3 are also due tomorrow and students should have completed this in class today.

ELA--Students should be finished reading their book and should have decided which project they will do for their second IRP which is due around January 15th. They should be working on the rough draft of that book project.

Math--4.4 Textbook (pages 148-149)  questions #4,6, 9 (in problem format) and #10 in problem format for Monday.

SS-- Weekly News is due by next Wednesday.

8T Science--Have the notes/research on the "Composition of Blood" completed for Monday.

Daily Update--January 5, 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable time with family and friends over the holidays.

Now it is back to work.

ELA--Students are always reading, as their second IRP is due around January 15th. We totaled our December calendar reading pages today but did not reach our class goal so we will be reading towards our February class goal.

We started Unit 5 vocabulary unit today, and the page on synonyms and antonyms is due Wednesday.

Math--POW # 14 is due Friday.

SS--A Treasure Hunt on Mesopotamia  is due tomorrow and the students need their textbook to complete it.

8R Science--The "Organ Systems" chart is due tomorrow.

Students need to bring in their immunization forms into the office ASAP.
