Daily Update--Feb. 27/15

ELA--There is always daily reading.

--I am still waiting for signed vocabulary tests, and signed Chapter 2 novel quiz.

-- Students should be working on the "Evidence of Learning" for Unit 6. The rough draft of either making up the story or making up the individual sentences should be a work in progress. This assignment in its entirety will be due Wednesday, March 4th. We are presently editing the sentences in class.

--For the novel, students should have read chapter 3 and identified 8 to 12 important events that happened in the chapter (using sticky notes). Now they are using the 2-column note-taking chart to add more details to the main events. The next step of the assignment is to write a rough draft of the summary of the chapter using the notes. This should be done by Tuesday.

Math--


SS--We are now presenting our 3-point approach projects in class.

Science--The Health/Science Media project was due  Friday, Feb.27th. Students who have not handed it in must do so on Monday.

Math-- POW#18 is due Tuesday, the latest. We started our review of concepts for the Math exam which will be written on Thursday, Feb. 19th. I assigned several questions from the exam review booklet, and have instructed the students to pick out more questions which deal with the concepts they are struggling with, and work on those over the weekend as well.  --A "Mind Map" has been introduced for the next novel assignment. No due date has been set, however, students should have completed the rough draft of it.

Math-- 6.5 textbook questions (on page 227/228) #7 a and b, #8 a and b, #9 a and b., and, in problem format, #12 for tomorrow. POW#18 is due Tuesday, the latest.

--The Venn diagram comparing the two gangs in our novel, The Outsiders, is due Monday and they should have finished reading chapter 1 in the novel today.

--Vocabulary unit 6 synonyms and antonyms page was assigned yesterday and is due Monday.

Math--POW #17 is due Monday.

SS--In the booklet on Mesopotamia, questions #1 to 7 were assigned yesterday and due today. Today questions #8 to 15 were assigned and are due Monday. A test on Mesopotamia will be written on Thursday, Feb. 12.

--We started our novel study today. For homework, students need to fill in the second column in the KWL chart with atleast three questions for each section. Due tomorrow.
