Daily Update--Monday, Sept. 22/14

Happy Autumnal Equinox Day!

ELA--Students should be reading daily for 20 minutes and working towards their first IRP which is due October 1st.

The first vocabulary test will be written tomorrow. Tuesday, Sept. 23. Hopefully students have been reviewing the definitions of the twenty words, their synonyms, antonyms, and how to use the words correctly in descriptive sentences. We have also been reviewing every day in class. We will also have spelling dictation before the test.

Our creative writing assignment in the form of a bio-poem should have its rough draft done for tomorrow. The good copy will be due by the end of the week or by early next week. We have not set a final due date as of yet.

Math--POW #3 is due for Thursday.

Science--I have asked the students to collect grasshoppers and crickets for our Science dissection class. Place in vented plastic containers with some grass in them.

SS--The 2-column note taking chart is due tomorrow. Students are making their own notes from pages 16 and 17 in the textbook.

8R--Science--I have asked the students to collect grasshoppers and crickets for our Science dissection class. Place in vented plastic containers with some grass in them.

****Students have pledge sheets to collect pledges for the Terry Fox Run/Walk which will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24/14. There are some great Jets t-shirts on display that will be given away to the top fund-raisers.

****Students still need to bring in Kleenex to class, please.
