Daily Update--Feb. 27/15

ELA--There is always daily reading.

--I am still waiting for signed vocabulary tests, and signed Chapter 2 novel quiz.

-- Students should be working on the "Evidence of Learning" for Unit 6. The rough draft of either making up the story or making up the individual sentences should be a work in progress. This assignment in its entirety will be due Wednesday, March 4th. We are presently editing the sentences in class.

--For the novel, students should have read chapter 3 and identified 8 to 12 important events that happened in the chapter (using sticky notes). Now they are using the 2-column note-taking chart to add more details to the main events. The next step of the assignment is to write a rough draft of the summary of the chapter using the notes. This should be done by Tuesday.

Math--


SS--We are now presenting our 3-point approach projects in class.

Science--The Health/Science Media project was due  Friday, Feb.27th. Students who have not handed it in must do so on Monday.

--For the 3-Point Approach/Word-a-day mini-project, students should have the rough draft information completed, and now working on the poster section of the project. Follow the detailed outline. The project will be due Friday of this week. It is not a long, extensive research project, so it can be completed within the time frame.

Science--The Health/Science Media project is due  Friday, Feb.27th. Students have had time to look for and find their 3 articles, and now should be working on the rough drafts of summaries and opinions. Science classes last week and this week have been used ( and are being used) for this project.

Daily Update--February 19/15

ELA-- There is daily reading of twenty minutes.

--The next IRP is due tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 20th. 
 --I am still waiting for signed vocabulary unit 5 tests to be returned to school.
 
--Chapter 2 quiz on the novel is to be signed and returned tomorrow.


Math--

SS-Get your Mesopotamia test signed and returned tomorrow.

Science-- Begin looking for articles for the Science/Health Media Project. You should have at least 2 articles printed off by now.

8R Science--Get the unit test signed and returned.

Cooking--Title page due next Day 4.


 *****For "I Love to Read Month", I shared my favorite children's book, Love You Forever. I would like the students to choose their favorite childhood book, bring it to class, and share it with us. We have also started a Reading Board Game which will continue to the end of the year.

******The MS Read-a-thon pledge sheets have been handed out, and I have encouraged the students to take part in this worthy fundraiser. We will continue with it until early March.

Daily Update--Feb.18/115

ELA-- There is daily reading of twenty minutes.

--The next IRP is due Friday, Feb. 20th. They should have the good copy of their reflections completed, and now working on their book project. 
 --I am still waiting for signed vocabulary unit 5 tests to be returned to school.


Math-- The Math exam which will be written tomorrow. I have instructed the students to pick out more questions which deal with the concepts they are struggling with, and work on those.

SS-

Science-- Begin looking for articles for the Science/Health Media Project.

8R Science--Get the unit test signed and returned.
